THE CONSTITUTION OF INDIA PREAMBLE
WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA, having solemnly resolved to constitute India into a SOVEREIGN SOCIALIST SECULAR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC and to secure to all citizens. JUSTICE, Social, Economic and political; LIBERTY of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship; EQUALITY of status and of opportunity; and to promote among them all; FRATERNITY assuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and integrity of the Nation; IN OUR CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY this twenty-sixth day of November, 1949, do HEREBY ADOPT, ENACT AND GIVE TO OURSELVES THIS CONSTITUTION.
PLEDGE
India is my country. All Indians are my brothers and sisters. I love my country and I am proud of its rich and varied heritage. I shall always strive to be worthy of it. I shall give my parents, teachers and all elders respect and treat everyone with courtesy. To my country and my people I pledge my devotion. In their well-being and prosperity alone lies my happiness.
SATURDAY
God of all creation, you have brought us to a happy week end. I consecrate to you all that I have done well during the past week and I ask your forgiveness for my lack of attention and wrong doing. Help me to do well next week and to serve you like an intelligent being loving and praising you to the best of my ability.

FRIDAY
O God, we ask you to bless our studies, our games, our interests and all that we do. Make us disciplined students. Give success to the work of our hands. Enlighten our minds, fill our hearts with love for you. Mould our hearts and our wills to destroy in us all evils of hatred, jealousy, anger, ill will and all that is bad in us. Give us the courage to fight against injustice, oppression of the poor and all social evils. Make us truthful and honest as we grow in our lives.

THURSDAY
O God, lover of children we ask you to bless this day. In your name we are beginning the new day. Let it be a day of hard work, of success and achievement. Help me to be a credit to my parents, teachers, school and country. Let me be receptive of all knowledge imparted to me today. ….. Amen
WEDNESDAY
Give me today, O God, a mind which can really learn. Give me an attentive mind, that I may concentrate on what I hear in class, a retentive mind, that I may not forget what I learn, an open mind to accept the truth, an eager mind to add something new to the store of my knowledge. This is my prayer to you today O God!
